“OrtoX9” community garden, in the Bovisasca district, covers a 6.000-square yard area recently assigned by the Municipality of Milan to “9×9 Association”.
Restoration works began in 2015 and are still well underway; so far, a fence, the irrigation system, cultivation areas, two sheltered structures, and a stage for shows and events have been created.
More than 50 volunteer gardeners are painstakingly taking care of their dedicated areas.
In the spring of 2015 several recreational and cultural events were organized, including two theatrical performances and several workshops for the children.
One year later, the construction of a specific educational garden began. This project is managed by Milan Polytechnic (Department of Design) and the nearby school on via Gabbro.
