Tullio Altan Palace

The compound of Palazzo Tullio Altan dates back to the XVIII century. It is surrounded by walls and the south-eastern moat that runs around the city of San Vito al Tagliamento.
The current structure comes from radical transformations made by the owners during the first decades of the XX century. The garden area is split into two parts: the first overlooks the building and features a formal garden and a hemicycle; the second, set right behind the latter, offers a small romantic park with winding paths.
The building is currently home to the Provincial Museum of Peasant Life.
Flora
There are some botanical species commonly used for ornamental, scenic and artistic purposes, like the box hedge (Buxus sempervirens), some Oriental persimmons (Diospyros kaki), and wisteria (Wisteria sinensis).
