Along the coast protected by the Conero Regional Natural Park, there are many beautiful beaches, some in pristine conditions, others equipped with bathing facilities, including:

– MEZZAVALLE: reachable on foot, by a steep path north of Portonovo or by boat. The beach doesn’t have bathing facilities, but offers showers, several services, and a restaurant;

Directions: drive along the Conero provincial road, towards Portonovo; then proceed on foot, along two paths descending the side of a riverbed, one longer and more intricate, the other shorter and steeper.

–BAY OF PORTONOVO: made of smooth white stones, with free or serviced areas; it’s loved by surfers for the waves caused by the sirocco and ostro winds; it features many fish restaurants with a terrace overlooking the sea.

Directions: drive along the Conero provincial road, towards Portonovo; take a road that descends along the side of the mountain and, should it be closed, a shuttle bus is available in the parking lot above it.

– BEACH OF THE TWO SISTERS: it is in the municipality of Sirolo, with the two sea stacks which are a true icon of the Conero Riviera. This is a wild and unspoiled beach, only accessible by the sea. It does not have any type of service, nor bathrooms, or commercial establishments.

Directions: It can only be reached by sea; daily ferry runs from the port of Numana. The path that descends from the top of the mountain is closed and very dangerous: it is strongly advised to avoid it.

– SASSI NERI: in the town of Sirolo, very long and wild, made of stones and dark gravel, reachable on foot (only in the summer) or by car;

Directions: from 15 June to 15 September, on foot from the Parco della Repubblica in Sirolo or by bus from the Town Hall. Out of season, it can also be reached by car.

– NUMANA ALTA: also called “SPIAGGIOLA”, is in the municipality of Numana. It’s very nice, protected by cliffs, with bathing facilities; a very popular beach among the tourists.

Directions: by bus; 15 minute-ride from the square of Numana.

– NUMANA BASSA AND MARCELLI: located in the municipality of Numana, made of fine golden sand, equipped with bathing services, sports facilities, restaurants and bars; Very popular among young people and families.
