This Wine Museum is one of the most innovative facilities of its kind, opened in September 2010 in an area already famous for its wines; the museum was actually created inside the thousand-year-old Falletti Castle.
The museum offers an interactive and poignant journey through the culture and tradition of wine in the local territories, explaining and underscoring their close link with the people – the main purpose of this particular exhibition is to preserve, enjoy and enhance this important cultural asset.
The tour of the museum is structured as a journey through the culture of wine, delving into the mysteries and myths of the “fruit of Bacchus”, and intertwining scientific and poetic approaches between light and dark atmospheres, different sounds, colours and multimedia experiences.
The exhibition stretches over all the floors of the castle, slowly descending from the panoramic terrace on the third floor, to the ancient cellars – the very heart of the building.
Nature is the undisputed protagonist of the exhibition, as the very creator of great wines. Visitors can thus discover all the different aspect of winemaking through history, art, gastronomy, cinema, music, literature, universal myths, and local traditions.
Eventually, the tour ends with a tasting experience at the “Temple of the Enotourist” and in the Regional Enoteca del Barolo, with several events often organized by the museum. It is also possible to admire the very great vintage labels of memorable productions.
