“Su logu de s’Iscultura” Museum of Contemporary Art

The Tortolì museum was opened in 1995, to offer a part of the Sardinian territory to art tourism. This facility is located partly on the internal ground floor of the former civic market, and partly outdoors along the town streets and the surrounding area.

Since its opening, visitors have been offered a new urban and environmental type of “furniture”. The great sculptures found here were designed and created by international artists such as Mauro Staccioli (exhibiting his three half-moons made of red concrete), Antonio Levolella (the author of the wheel made of weathering steel), Umberto Mariani (with his “Great curtain”), Maria Lai, Ascanio Renda, Pietro Coltella, and Hidetoshi Nagasawa.

What began as a sculpture park, has now become a culture park where tourists and residents can enjoy the world of contemporary art and its most current trends.
