Steppe Sarde Oasis is located in the Province of Sassari, in the Municipality of Mores.
The area, included in a larger Site of Community Interest and a Special Protection Area, is currently managed by the WWF.

Within some 20 acres, there is a typical environment with meadows, pastures, cultivated fields and real steppes, as well as the Nuraghe Burghidu (the main type of ancient megalithic buildings found in Sardinia, developed during the Nuragic Age between 1900 and 730 B.C.).
In this environment, considered one of the most endangered in Western Europe, a lot of endemic wildlife species can be found, including little bustards, Sardinian hares, Sardinian weasels, Sardinian tree frogs and the Sardinian painted frogs.

The flora, typical of dry steppes and prairies, gives way to riparian vegetation near the bends of the rivers and the streams. There are cork oaks (Quercus suber) and large cultivated and grazing areas, both natural and semi-natural.
