La Kiuva Cooperative Winery

La Kiuva cooperative is based in Arnad, managing a 34.5-acre vineyard.
It was founded in 1975 and the first 506 quintals of grape production were delivered in 1979. “Kiuva” (known as “patois” in the regional dialect) is the name of the sheaf of autumn dry leaves used in winter as forage for goats (once very widespread in the poor agricultural area).

Currently, this winery produces some 1.000 quintals of grapes and 70.000 bottles per year.
All the vineyards are located between 1.246 and 1.640 ft above sea level; the white and aromatic grapes can be found at the highest altitudes, while the rest are used for wines suitable for ageing in wooden barrels and featuring greater structure and body.
Annexed to the cooperative, there is a restaurant which offers the very wines produced in the cellar below. The restaurant which can accommodate up to 300 people, also features a bar and a large car park.

Wines produced by La Kiuva:

DOC white wines: Pinot Gris, Petite Arvine, Chardonnay, Muller Thurgau

Red DOC wines: Picotendro, Merlot, Arnad-Montjovet Superieur, Arnad-Montjovet

Table wines: Blanc du Mont, Rosé Mariage, Rouge du Mont

Sparkling wine: Seigneurs de Vallaise

Liqueurs: honey liqueur, Picotendro “grappa”
