Grand Eyvia Park

This park can be found in the city of Aosta, between via Grand Eyvia and via Evançon. This 7.175-square yard park is suitable for people of all ages. There’s a children’s area, a five-a-side football field, a basketball court, table tennis facilities, two fun zones featuring the classic “game of the week”, a pedestrian path, several benches, a gazebo, and two pergolas – needless to say, a lot of people can enjoy some rest and relaxation in the shade or in the sun, inside this beautiful park.
The latter is served by an automated irrigation system fed by the water of the ancient Meyran irrigation canal.
Last but not least, the park is equipped with services such as a quaint chalet with toilets, a drinking water fountain, a dedicated car park, an information bulletin board at the main entrance, and even a dog toilet.
A modern lighting system allows the use of the park also in the evening.
BOTANICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Inside the Grand Eyvia park, there are several neatly arranged plants of different sizes, including magnolias, Japanese pagoda trees (Sophora japonica), tulip trees (Liriodendron tulipifera), red maples (Acer Platanoides “Crimson King”), birches (Betula pendula), common laburnum (Laburnum anagyroides), and flowering East Asian cherry trees (Prunus serrulata); there is also a comfortable turf covering about 4.783 square yards. Not to mention a rose and a rock garden, with dwarf conifers and other peculiar plants, set on the top of the two central hills within the park.
An evergreen hedge is made of wild privets (Ligustrum vulgare) and Leyland cypresses (Cupressocyparis leylandii), surrounding a big portion of the park and also acting as an anti-noise/pollution barrier.
