Firriato winery was established in the early 1980s when Salvatore Di Gaetano’s enological passion was further stimulated by a particular place, the Firriato district: an agricultural territory in the province of Trapani, strongly linked to the cultivation of vines and the culture of winemaking.

After the first plants in the area of Nero d’Avola, Catarratto, and Ansonica, other terroirs were soon acquired, including the vineyards on the island of Favignana. Since the mid-1990s, the latter facility has actively collaborated with Salvatore Di Gaetano and his wife Vinzia Novara.

The eight Firriato wines produced today are born from exceptionally healthy grapes – with excellent organoleptic features, harvested at the very best stage of their ripeness while respecting the surrounding territory; Firriato wines are thus highly appreciated also by the most demanding and discriminating market sectors.

Each Firriato estate has its own peculiarities, due to different exposure, microclimate, soil composition and ventilation – that’s how every single wine truly express its own identity.
