The Municipality of Mount Sant’Angelo is in the province of Foggia, on the Gargano Promontory. In the centre of the latter, there’s a part of the Umbra Forest, a protected natural area belonging to the Gargano National Park.
Along the road to Montesantangelo, there is another green area, Bosco Quarto (“Quarto Wood”). There, visitors can admire some oak trees of Mount Sant’Angelo, up to 131-ft high, with a trunk circumference of about 13.5 ft: they are registered among the Monumental Trees of Puglia.
