Palace Pignatelli is a fortified palace, which built some years before 1600 at the borders of a medieval village as centre for the collection of agricultural production. Granaries, cellars and a “maccheronaia”, according to what is written in a description of the feudal archive, are present inside the building. “castello ducale Pignatelli” is located not so far away from the palace, which takes its name from the last owners-feudatories, the dukes Pignatelli of Montecalvo, and it was completely abandoned at the beginning of the 19th century, for then being refurbished between 1942 and 1970. It is possible to visit the magnificent “cortile d’armi”, the noble chapel and, just a few meters away, the Pignatelli residence, with a quadrilateral plant, dominated by a wide stone, outdoor, double flight staircase from which it is possible to reach the apartments. There is also a tower, a fortified tower, three quadrangular turrets and the garden with its numerous ornamental plants, flowerbeds and fish pool.
