The Oasis Valle della Caccia was established by the municipality of Senerchia on the 15 July 1992 and opened to the public on the 23 May of 1993.

Thanks to its surface of 450 hectares on the territories of the municipality and to its recess in the regional park of Monti Picentini, the oasis represents with its 63,0000 hectares the widest of Campania’s regional parks and one of the most important hydro-basins in Southern Italy.

Sulle rupi e nelle boscaglie, ad una quota compresa tra i 600 e i 1600 metri vive il Black pines (Pinus nigra) live in the woods and cliffs at an altitude of 600 and 1,600 meters under the form of relict habitats and with similar characteristics to the variety of Villetta Barrea in Abruzzo’s National Park.

Travelling on the so called “sentieri natura”, which follow the Acquabianca stream, it is possible to access to the reigns of brown trouts, dippers, nightingales, Erica terminalis, lilium, colourful orchids and rare black pines.

In the “grotta del muschio”, visitors can enjoy a unique natural show which culminates with the racket of crystalline waters coming down from a waterfall, among trees and in a mountain crack, whose slopes have been shaped by the force of the water.
