Rossini Art Site

Rossini Art Site is a 25-acre sculpture park, nestled between the hills in Brianza, in the green heart of the Lambro River Valley park – offering a breathtaking view of the Alps.
It was created by the entrepreneur and patron Alberto Rossini, to host his collection of the second half of the XX century, with works by internationally acclaimed artists such as Pietro Consagra, Bruno Munari, Giò Pomodoro, Fausto Melotti, Andrea Cascella, and Grazia Varisco.
The most interesting part of this facility is the access pavilion, designed by SITE studio and by New York architect James Wines, a true herald of Green Architecture, and a master of environmental design and organic architecture. The pavilion is a structure that interacts with the surrounding area, integrating art, the environment, and design in one single concept.
Under the artistic direction of Francesca Guerisoli, Pietro Rossini Foundation organizes exhibitions and events related to these artists’ permanent collection; it also deals with the promotion of contemporary art, architecture, design and artistic tutoring, mainly through live performances and temporary showcases at the Rossini Art Site park.
The latter also offers a variegated program of activities and training for young and old enthusiasts. Furthermore, both the park, with its strictly autochthonous vegetation (oaks, hazels, and hornbeams) along with several animal species and its surroundings offer relaxing walks among nature.
Excerpt from www.rossiniartsite:
An endless number of walkways and cycle lanes winds around Rossini Art Site, connecting it to many places of historical interest, such as the Fornace Artistica Riva di Briosco, the Romanesque parish church of Agliate, or the naturalistic oasis of the Cariggi.
Along the river and the Bevere area (where rainwater is naturally collected) in the Lambro Valley, it is possible to rediscover several beautiful farmhouses, and the authentic soul of Brianza; food and wine tasting experiences are widely available in nearby Montevecchia, for instance, as well as sightseeing tours to the nearby city of Monza, with its neoclassical Villa Reale built for Maria Theresa Di Austria by architect Giuseppe Piermarini (it currently houses interesting exhibitions in the largest European park). The city of Monza also features its Duomo cathedral, the legendary Iron Crown (one of the oldest royal insignias of Christendom), and the Zavattari Chapel, decorated with frescoes about Queen Theodolinda and considered by many the “Sistine Chapel” of Northern Italy.
The adjoining LEAR Gourmet & Relais guest house offers excellent traditional dishes in a refined atmosphere, as well as accommodation a few steps away from Rossini Art Site.
