Agricola San Felice is in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, a town among the hilly areas of Crete Senesi and south-east of Chianti Classico territory; the latter is in the centre of a region highly appreciated for its natural charm, beauty and harmony. Over there, urban settlements and the surrounding landscape have always developed in perfect synergy – the result of human ingenuity and sensible improvement of the whole area.

The town of Castelnuovo Berardenga, named after the castle built at the end of the XIV century by the Republic of Siena, is surrounded by a splendid landscape also featuring several hot springs: an ideal place for human settlements in the past.

The structure retains several features of the former Etruscan civilization, but only since the X century, Pieve San Felice in Pincis (consecrated to the martyr Saint Felice da Noia) has been acknowledged as one of the most ancient in the Chianti region.

After the Second World War and following many centuries of success, the company experienced a period of decline, like the entire Chianti region, which fortunately ended with its acquisition by an important financial group, in 1968. Then, in 1978 RAS insurance company became the new owner and that was the very year of birth of the winery.
San Felice had already acquired ten years of experience thanks to the insights of Enzo Morganti, a man with avant-garde Sangiovese wine-making skills who created Vigorello, combining Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

From the moment of acquisition onwards, the company run by Morganti, has always focused on high-quality products, thoroughly supported by methodical scientific research which had started when developing the abovementioned Sangiovese.

The current director of San Felice, Alessandro Marchionne, has already obtained outstanding results with Pugnitello, named after the autochthonous vine – working along with the University of Florence, San Felice has, in fact, spent some twenty years researching and improving this very brand new wine.

Today, Agricola San Felice is a highly successful company, fully dedicated to excellence and innovation, as evidenced by its continuous growth and appreciation also on international markets.
