Winter Yellow Tomatoes

Yellow tomatoes in winter can be found all over Molise. Called “pmdor d’viern da append” in the local dialect, they are very tasty, with yellow or orange skin and firm flesh. The plant grows upright when young, but then it tends to fall back.
During the harvest, farmers painstakingly pick the little yellow tomatoes, as well as the whole raceme.
Tied together, they are then stored for a long time, in well-ventilated and dry rooms.
This particular tomato plant can be preserved throughout the winter.
