This museum, located inside the historical “Galleria la Catena” building near Frosinone, was autonomously born in 1987, featuring many types of plants from the Ernici Mountain Range. On display, there are some 1.200 officinal plant species (dried), both spontaneous, and cultivated, from around Veroli and the whole Country as well.
Supported by Rome and Lecce Universities, this museum focuses on the dissemination of research and data about the world of plants. The main topics available for in-depth studies are Phytotherapy, which deals with the healing principles of plants – especially the autochthonous ones, Floristics, which covers the study and recognition of the various spontaneous plant species from a given site, Phytosociology which is about the study and classification of plant communities, and Plant ecology. The latter studies ecological needs of the species in their habitat, and the conservation and protection of the environment – also according to legislative issues, and habitat management.

Ancient tools, as well as old professional, and common medicinal preparations (essences and tinctures) are also exhibited here.
